Lovely. Sources, springs, water coming up out of the ground...always powerful and moving. You know Robert MacFarlane's Underland book, of course. Did you know he's going to be speaking at MAssey College this Thursday morning? 8.30 breakfast talk, about his new book, ...Rivers...something
Thanks heaps! And love Macfarlane and his work. His new book "Is a River Alive" is great, and the legal mechanism behind rivers having personhood, fascinating. I am sure he will talk about it Thursday but there is a pretty brilliant way to create funding for conservation through personhood rights of nature and creative performance. I will sadly miss it as we are in France until Friday but if you go I would love to hear about it.
I am new to your substack and it feels like stumbling upon a treasure chest. Thank you for your delicious words.
Zoe, what kind words. Thanks heaps and hope to keep it coming!

It was an excellent conversation, with Dr Orbinski, the new Principal at Massey. Terrific. He's going to liven the place up, for sure.
